We identify suitable roof areas for greening measures and assess their suitability based on roof slope. This enables municipalities and planning offices to map potential areas, prioritise measures and prepare targeted green roof programmes – also in the context of the EU Nature Restoration Law, helping to make cities greener and more resilient.
Green Roof Potential
This service supports municipalities and planning offices in identifying suitable roof areas for greening measures. Based on very high-resolution digital elevation models, roof slopes and derived suitability classes are calculated to reliably identify and map potentially greenable roof areas.
The service is particularly suitable for assessing potential areas and prioritising measures — as a basis for green roof programmes and their contributions to heat mitigation, rainwater retention and improving the microclimate.
